It's Been 16 months!

The last time I posted anything was back in Feb 2009. It has been 1 year and 4 months since my last blog entry. Wow, this feels like a confessional box.

A LOT has happened in the past 16 months... and yet, i'm still as single as ever! Waah!

But, I'm older, wiser, less hair due to stress... wider, but not taller... got more gadgets... and more friends!

Just dropped by to say hello to my blog. Hope I get to update this more often. This is all FB's fault, I just got hooked! Hehehe!

till next time... hope it won't take another 16months.

blog update

I know I've been neglecting my blog lately. I just kinda lost momentum coz life just got too busy.

I'm not really complaining, I like to be busy. Especially if I'm doing things that are worthwhile.

I'm finally done with "The Project", YIPEE!!!! (that's for me to know and you to find out). Let's just say that it's something that's loooonnnggg overdue. I may have missed my deadline by 10 days but at least it's done now. I'm feeling good about that. Now it's time to synchronize swatches and make sure all efforts are according to plan.

In the meantime, it's time to get some rest and vacation. I've lots of trips lined up in the next few weeks.

Promise to keep my blog updated about that!

Blog Tag Mania

Blog-tag has been started by Jeff Pulver as a game for a Virtual Cocktail Party. The purpose of the game is for your blog readers to know you better. Jeff Pulver's version only shares 5 things about himself that few of his friends know. Since the blog-tag has really gone a long way, the list of things that you can share with your blog readers have also been increased. If you think your blog readers need to know more than 5 things about you then you can always choose to have a higher number. Same rules still applies.

Here how it goes:

Share 8 things that your readers don’t know about you. Then at the end, tag 8 other bloggers to keep the fun going.

~ Each blogger must post these rules first.
~ Each blogger starts with eight random facts/habits about themselves.
~ Bloggers who are tagged need to write on their own blog about their eight things and post these rules.
~ At the end of your blog, you need to choose eight people to get tagged and list their names.
~ Don’t forget to leave them a comment telling them they’re tagged, and to read your blog

1. I hate frogs.

I'm a classic batrachophobic, which means "someone with an illogical fear of amphibians". I'm afraid of frogs and I hate frogs. I don't see the reason why God created these ugly creatures. I can't even look at pictures or drawings of frogs. I hate Kerokeropi.

One time, while I was watching TV alone in my Mom's room, a frog jumped in and scared the hell out of me. I've never gone in my Mom's room ever since. I always call her to go out of her room if I need to talk to her.

2. I'm a Trekkie!

The geek gene in me is very strong. I love Star Trek, especially the Next Generation Series. I've always had a crush on Data and Spock. I have books, pins, posters, catalogues, memorabilia and recorded TV shows. Back in high school, my friend Leisel and I used to talk in Klingon language. Hehe!

3. Sunrise, sunset.

I love the sun. I worship it sometimes.
I know most people like Sunsets. But I like Sunrises more. The colors maybe less dramatic but Sunrises have special meanings for me. New beginnings, starting over, freshness and cleanliness, and most specially Hope.

4. Book smeller, Slow reader.

I love books, the physical things. I don't like reading online texts. I would rather that I smell the pages, feel the rough or smooth paper, touch the embossed letters of the cover, and look at the fine artistry involved in binding or printing the cover art.

I always buy books but about 40% of them I haven't finished reading. I'm such a slow reader! It takes me 3 weeks to finish a book in my regular pace. I want to consume it and enjoy it longer.

5. Dream Job

Most people would say that they have not done their dream jobs. I have. I'm not doing it now, but I got to experience it already.

My dream job was to be an Eco-tour coordinator for Lagen Island resort in El Nido, Palawan back when I was 23 years old. I got to dive, swim, travel, talk to foreign and local tourists, row kayaks around islands and lagoons, sail a yaught, live in a luxury resort and GET PAID for doing it!

I would love to do it again, but the fact that I got the chance to experience it in my lifetime is enough for me. I'm contented with that.

6. Archeologist, Egyptologist, Paleontologist.

Like I said, the geek gene is strong in me. These are professions that I wanted to have when I was a kid. I've always been interested in mummies, ancient civilizations, fossils, evolution and dinosaurs. I am a product of being exposed at an early age to the Discovery Channel. Indiana Jones was HOT!

7. Pet peeves and toothpastes.

My biggest pet peeve is having toothpaste tubes not properly rolled out or pinched at the middle.

I didn't realize it until my best friends told me about it. One time my friend Jay used the toothpaste in the bathroom and pinched the tube in the middle. I was so irritated. I scolded her about it and showed her how to pinch it from the end so that we don't waste it. Then I realized that I do that for all the bathrooms in the house.

8. Farty Libraries

This is a secret only a few people know about me. But I'm willing to share it to the world.

I fart in libraries... and in places where there are high shelves close to my body. I don't know why, or how it happens. Whenever I go to a bookstore or grocery where there are shelves as tall or taller than me, I always have the urge to fart. Maybe something in my childhood triggered it. I don't know.

Dear friends, when I say I'll buy books or go grocery shopping, I'll understand if you don't wanna join me from now on.

The survey has been added as a widget on the left side, everyone's still welcome to give his/her opinions.

August

It's the last day of August. Time flew so fast.

Looking back, August was a blast. All the blogging really made it more special. The fact that I can share my day with the rest of the world (or maybe just within the office) made the trivial things more meaningful.

We're entering the BER months now... the holidays are coming up. Lots to blog about!

Can't wait!

Kyle, new blogger

My nephew insists I help him create his own blog. He wants to publish his pictures of his field trip and other activities.

I'm teaching him how to create and update his own blog.

You can check out Kyle's Adventures Blog.

That's him as a cowboy. Kamukha ko ba? Hehe, we're wearing the same shades.

Blogger na rin siya.

B.I. talaga si Tita Marie! hehe...

Yummy page

Hope everyone enjoys the new look of my blogsite. GODIVA CHOCOLATES!

Thanks again to my blog guru, Coach Shei, I used the template from
FinalSense.com to customize this. Good ol' copy-paste lang!

I've added page numbers below so that my fellow Ka-bloggers and other visitors can view old posts easily.

Still don't know squat about HTML editing. But at least the site looks YUMMY!

No reset buttons

Haay! I finally fixed my blog. I stayed up till 2am this morning trying to fix it. The fact that our wireless connection at home keeps dropping was no help either. Talagang when it rains, it pours!

It all started yesterday when I was trying to customize my blog. I was experimenting with a few online blogger templates. Shonga ko kasi, I tried copy-pasting their html scripts directly onto my layout, without backing up my existing template. Di pala pwede yung copy-paste pag templates! Wahehe! Jules was egging me on and ayun! the Layout tab went missing, there were "undefined" texts on every corner, and the fonts were all big and ugly. I lost all my widgets and I couldn't upload my TSUNAMI image.

Unfortunately I couldn't find any reset buttons on this thing. What I did to fix it was to create an entirely new blog site and saved a copy of the original template. Then I uploaded that to my old blog site. Et voila! C'est tres magnifique! After a few minor adjustments (and numerous cries for help from Coach Shei), the blog list is complete and everything is back to normal.

Mind you, this will definitely not stop me from zhushing up my site in the future! Now that I know how to backup and restore my templates, expect to see more experiments in the future. Though, I won't be listening to Jules anytime soon.

B.I. - Blogger Influence

This is Coach Sheryl... one of the coolest people in Sony! She influenced me to create my own blog.

I never told her this, but back when I was in the night shift, her blog always makes me smile. Whenever I'm stressed with work and am stuck in front of my computer, I go to her blogspot (http://lifeofadominantbitch.blogspot.com/) and read her posts. Never fails to amuse me.

Yun lang, gaya gaya lang ako. Hehe!

Thanks Coach She! Wuv you!

I took this picture of her when we were having coffee in Starbucks. One of my numerous attempts at photography... one of my frustrations. I'll post more pictures next time and show more of my "postcardy photos".
